Feel free to also share what’s your favourite console in the comments!

As someone who loves handheld gaming, I am really curious to know how readers prefer to play their games.

Voting goes until the 31st of January.

December poll results: Readers’ favourite season in games

Our previous poll asked you: What’s your favourite season (or season vibe) in video games?

  • Autumn is the most popular season, with 8 votes (42%).
  • Winter and Spring came tied in second place, with 5 votes each (26%).
  • Summer was the least favourite option, with only 1 vote! (5%).

As for my own personal pick, Winter is my favourite season in games, even though it’s my least favourite season in real life. I feel that the winter vibes and towns covered in snow are so charming, and the winter soundtracks are always the best!

Just a quick reminder

The blog is on a break until January 13th, so there will be no post next week!

I’ve been a PC gamer for a bit over 30-years now, not including dabbling in lots of shareware on the family computer even earlier.

I long insisted on sitting at a desk for my gaming time; hated sitting on the couch and playing on consoles/the tv. But around 2016 or so, I started switching over. I sold my PC sound system, packed away my monitors, got rid of my desk and attached my PC to my TV. I started getting more heavily into handhelds around that time as well.

Today, I’ve been contemplating upgrading my GPU in my desktop and honestly? I can’t justify it. I sit at my desk/desktop so little to actually game, it really doesn’t make sense to spend a boatload of money on something that will barely even be used. I don’t stream from that PC either, because I get annoyed with the latency; 99% of my gaming is done on my Steam Deck or my laptop, usually sitting on the couch and if I’m craving a desk, at the kitchen table.

I’m 41 now, I have a family. Not only do I just not want to sit at a desk, but I don’t want to sequester myself away in an office anymore

    1. PC + TV is such a game changer. When my boyfriend upgraded his PC, we brought his old one to my house and plugged to the TV and it works so well!

There are so many good options for wireless keyboards too. We got one that even has a trackpad on it. I also love the idea of a gaming laptop.

You also make a good point about the social part of it. It’s way more inviting to play on a TV if you have people living with you. I really like when my boyfriend watches me play. And if I don’t want that, I just play on the Deck haha.
